Captain Redeye and the Hoods are a jumpin’, jivin’ and wailin’ nine-piece gangster swing band. They play an upbeat mix of jump-jazz from the 1940s and ’50s alongside big-band classics and hits from the modern swing revival, all with a dash of Latin and Calypso flair thrown in for good measure.

The playlist features old favourites from artists such as Louis Prima, Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra and Andy Williams with original tunes and pop and rock reinterpretations thrown in too. The repertoire draws upon the golden Hollywood era of cinema, as well as from more recent films such as Swingers and The Mask.
