Biography

These Victorian Carol Singers sing a variety of traditional Victorian Carols but with a unique twist; adding fun and humour to the proceedings.

The “Walnut Crackers” are the back-up Carol Singing group from their local church. They like to perform traditional Christmas songs, but every third or fourth song you may find it becomes a little more animated and modernised, with dancing, gestures, and even physical storytelling thrown into the mix! You may find some of the lyrics mixed up so that we get medley songs with modern lyrics thrown in. But order is always restored as the Walnut Crackers know that to be taken seriously as Carol Singers they must stick to the traditional songs.

Celebrate Christmas with this performance featuring classic ditties from the period (such as ‘O, Christmas Tree’, ‘God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen’ and ‘Hark the Herald’), certain to get everyone singing along! The performance also includes comic interludes between songs.

They combine good singing with a street theatre flare that gets audiences engaged and interacting with the traditional singers.

(All songs can be edited and a more strict/formal carol singing can be provided.)
