Biography
“A celebration of life and people, a unique experience and a complete joy to behold.”
Timber Festival
Toast is a roaming street theatre show built around a beautifully crafted, mobile cart and a pair of friendly travelling hosts. With their fire-filled oven-on-wheels, they serve up sizzling treats, tall tales and delicious encounters in equal measure. It’s part live performance, part communal ritual, and entirely unforgettable.
Audiences are invited to gather around the cart for stories, songs and moments of connection. It’s interactive, theatrical and captures imaginations, with each encounter tailored to the moment and the crowd. From sharing food to sharing memories, this is street theatre at its most human.
Designed for outdoor spaces and built for roaming, all Toast requires is a flat surface and a curious crowd. It’s ideal for festivals, green events, city centre celebrations and community gatherings, bringing people together through warmth, humour and a slice of something tasty.
Created by a celebrated outdoor theatre company, Toast is a small-scale act with huge heart. Playful, thoughtful and packed with inventive detail, it’s the kind of entertainment audiences will remember for a long time to come.
Whether enjoyed as a walkabout performance or booked for more structured audience moments, it leaves people feeling more connected.

“It was my first experience of Toast this weekend at Timber Festival and it was a complete delight spreading a wide eyed smile from ear to ear with a chance to get in touch with the inner child and ‘play’. The programme promised to make us feel special… but this show and these beautiful ‘multitalented inhabitants’ went far beyond that.
Every show (yes.. it was so good I went back for more…) was unique because it was shaped around stories and personalities of the gathered crowd. I was moved to tears, cried with laughter and felt ’seen’ and important in a world where we are often too busy to connect with one another. It brought together a disparate group of people who started as strangers and left as friends. A celebration of life and people, a unique experience and a complete joy to behold”
