Her performances are as dynamic as they are inspiring, garnering her a worldwide fan base and countless invitations for high-profile events in the UK and internationally.
Her original songs include a mix of intriguing funky rhythms, catchy pop melodies and jazz-influenced scat solos, with lyrics that deliver powerful and inspiring messages that always engage audiences.
Singer Ru’s incredible versatility as a singer for hire means she can perform a wide range of styles. Her vast repertoire includes jazz, bossa nova, world music, blues, upbeat hit covers, pop, soul, funk, rock, rnb, house, club classics, and songs spanning the 1950s to current hits.
Since 2014, Ru has recorded and collaborated with various international artists, including Cassell the Beatmaker (The Streets, Plan B, Ady Suleiman), Eric Appappoulay (Natasha Beddingfield), Danish producer Mark Stangerup, Finnish producer Awakem, London-based grime rapper KD, and the South African artist Gui.
“Holding On”(2019) was the first single off Ru’s debut EP which received an astonishing 60,000+ streams on Spotify in only six weeks as well as stellar reviews in the UK press. It topped the Susy Radio UK 20 Best Tracks of 2020 chart at number 1 and was the track of the day on BBC Radio Sussex & Surrey.
Ru’s second single “Clean Slate” (2020) gathered an impressive 92,000+ streams on Spotify in the first four weeks. The EP was mixed by Roy Merchant and Naweed from Whitfield Mastering (who also worked on Mark Ronson’s “Uptown Funk” and Jamiroquai’s “High Times”).

• Receiving BBC Radio’s ‘Track of the Day’ on all songs off her debut EP “About Time.”
• Finalist at the Open Mic UK 2016 contest, winning a Charthouse Music Award.

• A request to perform at the Presidential Palace in Portugal.
• An invitation by the Portuguese Ambassador to perform at his London residence for a high-profile international audience.
• Writing for international artists and movie soundtracks, including the much-acclaimed film Stefan Zweig: Farewell to Europe.
• Performances at the Union Chapel, The Ned, The Ministry London, The Coliseum Lisbon, Sofar Sounds, as well as UK and European Music Festivals like Victorious Festival and Cornbury Music Festival.
