Biography

One of London’s top vintage bands, the Shirt Tail Stompers are firmly established at home and internationally playing Harlem swing and Prohibition-era jazz of the 1920s and 1930s.

Heavily influenced by Fats Waller, Fletcher Henderson, Wingy Manone and many other greats from the swing and trad jazz era of the 1920s, 1930s and 1940s, Shirt Tail Stompers also play a mean blues show, influenced by the likes of Duke Ellington, Sidney Bechet and the old musical roots of New Orleans.

Over the last few years, the band’s highlights have included shows and events at the Royal Festival Hall, Ronnie Scott’s, Royal Academy of Arts for the BBC Culture Show and the Royal Albert Hall. They have also been booked to play festivals and shows in France, Belgium, Germany, Sweden, Switzerland, Italy, Ireland and all across the UK.
