North London born S.E.L. has made it her vocation to take UK jazz and soul back to its grassroots. As a full-time member of UK soul collective Soul II Soul, S.E.L. has been mentored and worked with a whole host of notable soul and jazz singers. As such, she has now become renowned in the genre for her hypnotic, thought-provoking songwriting and soothing vocal style.

With several successful releases under her belt, S.E.L. is making waves within the UK jazz industry and has been tipped by a number of industry professionals as one to watch.
Thanks to her formidable vocals and specialist knowledge in jazz history, she has been highly sought after to work with greats across all genres of music. In 2005, S.E.L. began working with the UK’s very own living legend, Jazzie B and the movement that is Soul II Soul.
From jazz, reggae and pop to classical, soul, R&B and blues, the list of artists S.E.L. has worked with reads like a who’s who of world-renowned international music. Artists S.E.L. has worked with include Alicia keys, Omar, Debbie Harry, Caron Wheeler, Jocelyn Brown, George Nooks, Sanchez, Duncan James, Mica Paris, Carleen Anderson, Charlotte Kelly, Rose Windross, Kym Mazelle and countless others.
Determined to bring British soul music back to its grassroots, S.E.L. signed her first deal to Universal Records affiliate, Cubit Records releasing her debut single ‘Necessary’ to international acclaim. From Japan, China, South Africa, France and Canada to right here at home in the UK, S.E.L. is becoming known for her sultry vocals, her truly amazing songwriting talents and her down-to-earth demeanor.
