Rosaria Gracia

Biography

Rosaria’s wonderful dance immerses you in a fusion of colours, sounds and dance styles. Her training encompasses different traditions from around the world, including classic samba, Afro-Brazilian, African and flamenco styles.

Dr. Rosaria Gracia has been dancing, teaching and choreographing static and parade dance works since 2000. She has performed extensively in the UK and in international festivals in Belgium, France, Germany, Spain, Brazil and Cuba. She also holds two Guinness World Records for the Biggest Samba Band (Royal Albert Hall 2014) and Biggest Percussion Lesson (Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park 2016).

Some of her credits are: Queen of Bateria of the London School of Samba (2001) of which she is still a guest teacher; choreographer of the Comissao de Frente of Paraiso School of Samba (2008 – 05); lead choreographer of the Brighton School of Samba (since 2015); choreographer of the finale site and performer of Burning of the Clocks (since 2008); movement director of the Children’s Parade (Same Sky, since 2011); choreographer of the Kemptown Carnival parade (since 2011); choreographer and performer of the touring show SkyDome: the Image machine; lead choreographer and performer of Maracatu Cruzeiro do Sul (since 2009).
