Testimonials

“We just wanted to e-mail you to say a HUGE thank you for absolutely ROCKING our wedding! The dancefloor was packed the entire time (just as you promised it would be), how you got all the guests involved was awesome and the atmosphere was just off the scale! The day in itself was just perfect, and you guys made sure that it finished off in style!

A special thank you from Cindy and her family for the Sax solo that Sam learnt for our first dance. Both the song and artist were a favourite of Cindy’s late mum and meant so much to the family to hear such a special cover!

Thanks so much for your support over the last couple of years in terms of all of the rearrangements. It certainly was worth the wait. You’re just a great group of guys, and we have loved working with you! All the best, Love from”
Mr & Mrs Cohen, Owen House Wedding Barn

“We just wanted to write to you to say a HUGE thank you to you and the rest of Race Ahead for performing at our wedding last weekend.

To say we were blown away is an understatement. You guys absolutely rocked and the dance floor was full all night!! The song choices, the performance and your engagement with the crowd just made the evening. We’ve had so many comments from guests and other suppliers that you were the best wedding band they’ve ever heard and we couldn’t agree more.

The rendition of ‘Don’t Look Back in Anger’ will be something we watch back for many years to come. It was one of our highlights of the wedding weekend!

We’ll hopefully get to hear you again soon and will be looking out for your live gigs. Anyone looking for a live band for a wedding or any other occasion would be seriously impressed if they book Race Ahead. Thanks again so much, we had an absolute blast!!”
Tim and Clara

“Where do we start with you and the band – my GOD you’re a talented bunch.

We just wanted to send a quick note to say a massive thank you for helping to make our wedding day so so memorable for us and everyone else, and to thank you for the fact that my feet are now in BITS as I don’t think I left the dancefloor once during your sets haha!

It’s not an understatement to say that EVERYONE has commented on how bloody brilliant you were. I can’t even keep count of the amount of people who have sang your praises to us.

Even Martin (the singer from Audioweb), told me as he was leaving that “I’ve been to a lot of doos, but they were the best band I’ve ever seen at one!” – he also commented on how amazing your voice was, and that the songs you belted out EFFORTLESSLY were pretty difficult to sing!

We’ve been to see you a few times before the wedding, and we’ve never heard you guys perform anything we didn’t enjoy, so we were happy for you to play pretty much anything on Saturday – but the set you crafted for us was absolutely perfect, and honestly we wouldn’t have changed it. You knew our music taste and knew better than us what to play, and every song had that dancefloor bursting with people.

We knew from the first time we saw you play that we were booking you, and that you were going to be amazing – but you thoroughly exceeded our expectations.

About you personally Gavin as well, you’ve been an absolute dream. You’ve come over and chatted to us everytime we came to see you play before lockdown, and answered all of our queries in the lead up to the day itself – and you have such a lovely calm nature about you that in turn kept us calm, and we never had any worries the whole way through our engagement.

I hope you’re ready for us to stalk you at all gigs over the North-West for the foreseeable haha!

Just generally again THANK YOU to you and the band, just for being incredible.”
Jenn and David, Lowry Theatre

“We just wanted to say thank you so much for making our night so amazing! We’re still buzzing from it and so many guests have said you’re the best band they’ve ever seen! We’ll defo go see you guys play again at some point”
Eddie & Lucy, The Playhouse Sefton Park

“We’re just back from our little honeymoon trip and wanted to take the time to say thank you so much for being a part of our wedding.

As music lovers, getting the music right was an absolute priority for us and you exceeded our expectations!

Both guests and staff at the venue were commenting on how brilliant you were – we heard ‘best wedding band ever’ on more than one occasion!

We appreciated you playing our first dance song and putting extra effort in to tailor the music to our taste and accommodate people’s requests – Race Ahead absolutely made our evening.

We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend you to other couples looking for a wedding band and look forward to catching you in the future at a public gig”
Sarah and Conor, The Outbarn

“Thank you so so much for Thursday night. You guys were absolutely incredible! Everyone was dancing all night and we had some many compliments about you guys.

We can see why you win awards and it’s totally deserved!”
Candice & Dave, Merrydale Manor
