Biography

“Heʼs brilliant – he played at the Spiegeltent in May, hearing him with heavy bass lines and a full sound system was amazing.”
BBC Radio

Puncture Kit is a drummer with the most unique sounding and looking drum kit around! As soon as heʼs unpacked his bags and turned his fully-functioning bicycle into his drum kit, he launches into an explosion of rhythms to suit any event. For the ultimate live experience of percussion, energy, dynamics and originality, Puncture Kit is it.

Puncture Kit, an avid cyclist, designed his unique drumkit after stopping with his bike in the park one day to fix a puncture. With his bike turned upside down, the idea just came to him: drums are going on that.

Since then, David has dedicated himself to the on-going study of drumming and percussion and the challenge of developing his drumming-only solo performances and recordings.

His approach to his drumming is mainly self-taught through studying many drummers and musicians. He has also studied with world-class drummer Benny Greb from whom he learned invaluable techniques, musicianship and Benny’s unique rhythmic principles.

Puncture Kit has performed at Glastonbury Dance Village, Lake of Stars in Africa, Milan Design Fair, Alexandra Palace London playing support before The Black Keys, Florence and the Machine, and Bombay Bicycle Club, Pavillion Theatre Brighton UK, London Student Awards, Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre and The London 2012 Olympic Road Cycling Race. He has also appeared on BBC’s Blue Peter and in the leading UK online drum magazine, IDRUM.

INTERACTIVE WORKSHOPS.

BBC Radio

“Puncture Kit was a fantastic asset to our after-party, his ability to switch from his usual upbeat, fast–paced drumming to a more jazzy, laid-back style suited our venue perfectly. The drumming gave the party a great atmosphere throughout the night and we got a brilliant response from our guests – we would highly recommend him!”
Frith Street Gallery

“Puncture Kit was amazing! Although he did confuse the museum staff at the Victoria & Albert Museum initially, (they didnʼt want to let him in because they thought it was just a regular bike!). But once we explained, everything went off great. A solid performance with lots of variety. We received positive feedback from clients and customers alike.”
