Biography
Pavlos Band’s performances embody the musical traditions of Greece and Cyprus and are driven by the warmth, quality and authenticity you would experience in a Greek village feast or an in old taverna in Athens or Nicosia.
The musicians’ repertoire includes hundreds of Hellenic tunes, ranging from classics like Zorba the Greek and Never on Sunday to much less known songs in the categories of Tsamikos, Mantilatos, Pentozalis, Ikariotikos, Haniotikos and Ionian-island Serenades.
Forming groups of two to seven members, the performers aim to satisfy the entertainment requirements of each party. Their instruments include bouzouki, guitar, accordion, violin, baglama, percussion and kanun.
Dancers and DJs can be recommended subject to request. In wedding parties where both Greek and English entertainment is required, it can be a good idea to mix the elements by having a Greek band for the reception, dinner and first part of the evening and a DJ for the rest of the night.
