Biography

Lucy Driver and Maria Camahort met while studying for Masters Degrees at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and have since worked together on a number of projects, including premieres of Spanish composer F. Gasull’s work, and recitals around the UK. A stunning combination of instrumental talent, Flute and Guitar Duo is available for live Covid-safe and socially distanced events.

Lucy specialised in classical flute at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama with Richard Blake, and was awarded BMus(Hons). Lucy then won a place at the prestigious Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, on the Guildhall Artist Masters Course, from which she graduated with distinction.

Lucy studied flute and piccolo and while at GSMD, she was chosen to take part in sit-ins with the London Symphony Orchestra and the Philharmonia Orchestra, and also took part in the GSMD side-by-side projects with the BBC Symphony Orchestra and the LSO.

Lucy has performed in a variety of venues including the Barbican Concert Hall, the Wigmore Hall, Cadogan Hall, LSO St Luke’s, St John’s, Smith Square and BBC Maida Vale Studios. In addition to orchestral performances, Lucy performs recitals at music festivals around the country and abroad, and performs as a soloist as well as in a number of chamber music ensembles.

Maria Camahort graduated with distinction from her Master’s Degree at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

After finishing her studies, Maria was granted the Guildhall Artists Fellowship for 2010/2011 and 2011/2012. As a performer, Maria is particularly interested in the field of chamber music, especially in creative and collaborative performances. She has also created and directed her own artistic projects, such as, “Guitar and Poetry”, “Spanish Composers; the influence of the Traditional Music”, and the UK Premiere of F. Gasull’s compositions.
