Biography

You can find stand-up comedians everywhere, but really great MUSICAL comedians are a rarity. London based SONY recording artiste, Earl Okin, is among the finest of them all.

He has been an established and highly respected headline act on the unforgiving London comedy circuit for more years than he cares to remember and is the most performed artiste ever at the Edinburgh Festival.

He has performed at the Montreal Comedy Festival where he was one of the hits of the year and last year was chosen to open the huge Adelaide Cabaret Festival as part of their TV Gala.

He has toured his one man show literally around the world from Melbourne to Vienna; from Amsterdam to Los Angeles etc., for his comedy is both unique and, given that the audience speaks at least SOME English, without national barriers.

Among his friends and fans are Sacha Baron Cohen and Billy Connolly and he has performed everywhere from the world-famous London Palladium to top comedy clubs in the USA, such as Caroline’s in New York or the Comedy Store, Ice House and Improv. in Los Angeles .

He has also performed at many a corporate event, including a huge Gala in conjunction with last year’s Formula 1 race in Singapore, and given private entertainments for all sorts of celebrities from Andrew Lloyd Webber to golfer Colin Montgomery, from the Duke & Duchess of Northumberland to the King & Queen of Sweden, not to mention Queen Elizabeth II herself!

Testimonials

“MASTER OF THE ART OF CABARET”
“For much of the time you think he’s only ad-libbing, but slowly realize that you are in the presence of a master of the art of cabaret. Age does not matter for he appeals to all from 17 to senility…master of the art of cabaret. He’s a joy! He is classic! He is a must!
Russell Hunter.” *****.
‘The Scotsman’ review at The Edinburgh Festival.

“Multi-talented musical supremo”
Cabaret editor – TIME OUT (London).

“Can one be wickedly droll, swing like mad and touch your sultry heart?
Yes one can…and that one is Earl Okin.”

STEVE ROSS. Doyen of New York Cabaret performers.

ONE ENCORE WASN’T GOING TO BE ENOUGH.
“Because they have so many good ‘home-made’ artistes, if you don’t measure up, a Belfast audience will talk right through your set. While Earl was on, you couldn’t hear a sound from the crowd and it was no real surprise when one encore wasn’t going to be enough.”
Grahame Morrison.
Review from the Queen’s Festival, Belfast.
