Biography
“Absolutely stunning! Such surreal elegance and magic. Our corporate clients and funders were charmed and utterly entranced by the characters and want to see it all over again”
J. McCarthy, Client Relationship Manager, Outward Bound Professional
Graceful contact juggling, statuesque stilt walking and beautiful cirque-style costuming are combined to create a memorable circus act with a twist. Calvos have been booked worldwide by corporate events, street theatre festivals and exclusive private functions and you’ll definitely want to book them for your next event!
Calvos performers seem like creatures from a tranquil and mysterious world bringing with them a beautifully surreal sense of suspended time and alternative physical laws. They make glass balls appear to be suspended in mid-air, and seemingly freeze and move in enigmatic synchronicity while a magical soundscape accompanies them.
Our Calvos contact jugglers either perform as ground-level crystal ball jugglers or as stilts characters, or both in the same booking. You can also choose to have them wear LED costumes for an extra touch of magic.
Calvos performers provide:
CONTACT JUGGLING
Calvos are the UK’s top performers of ‘contact juggling’ – the manipulation of crystal balls that glide, float, dance and levitate surreally around the artists’ hands, arms and bodies. Impossibly skillful, delightfully mesmeric and utterly astounding, this real-live magic must be seen to be believed. If you’ve never seen Calvos before, make sure you watch their new promo video.
STILT WALKING
Standing on stilts and viewed high above their audience, Calvos stilt walkers perform beautiful zen-like freezes and graceful movements to frame and escort their contact juggling partners. Using hidden wireless technology, the performers effortlessly synchronize their statue-to-movement transitions with stunning effect, and carry powerful hidden PAs to create a magical soundscape around them. Calvos stilt walkers perform alongside their contact jugglers but can also appear independently both at large public events or in more intimate settings.
A WORLD-CLASS ACT
Calvos has performed throughout the UK, Europe, Middle East, Asia and North America at a diverse range of events from festivals and birthday parties to blue-chip company galas.
NOTE: Calvos also perform as walkabout contact jugglers with a range of alternative costumes and characters. Some artists also perform high-skill music choreographed stage routines (approx. 5mins).
Calvos is perfect for: Outdoor and indoor events looking for cirque sophistication, including corporate events, festivals and circus-themed parties.
