Established for over twelve years they have performed at countless events, from festivals, street parties, parades and clubs to corporate & community celebrations of all kinds, both nationally and internationally. These include the Notting Hill Carnival, Westend Festival Glasgow, Wroclaw Non Stop Festival in Poland, Brighton Carnival, Secret Garden Festival UK and BBC’s Springwatch.
Barulho is headed up by Pat Power, percussionist, composer and one of the most respected innovators on the UK Samba scene. His extensive knowledge of traditional Afro-Caribbean styles mixed with cutting edge beats lead to their innovative and seductive Samba sound.
High energy, fully acoustic and able to set up quickly anywhere for static or mobile events, Barulho are versatile for all occasions adapting their numbers between 10 – 35 piece to suit the event.
Barulho combines hot drumming action with up to four flamboyantly costumed dancers personally choreographed by internationally renowned dancer, choreographer and dance consultant Rosario Gracia whose speciality is celebratory carnival dance.

From ‘Glamorous Cabaret’ perfect for formal events, to their ‘Travelling Freak Show Carnival’- a horde of mismatched creatures from the very depths of myth and legend – they pride themselves on creating visually stunning costumes which turn any show into an extraordinary experience.
