“What can I say about Sonny West and The Congo Faith Healers. They are just a corps of master musicians, but more than this they have such great chemistry as a band. Sonny West is a brilliant musician writing some amazing songs which unlike so many tunes which require several listenings, are instantly appealing.
What a great frontman he is too, holding the audience in the palm of his hand. He has a fantastic voice and plays a superb guitar producing fabulous musical harmonics with both the amazing trumpet playing of Si (the lips) Taylor and Steve New on Double Bass. Jay Tubsman on the drums is an absolute master of Latin and ska beats and together they create a munificent, throbbing resonance that compels people to tap their feet, wobble their hips and get up dancing.
They know how to pace their music with beautiful quietude building up to storm crashing crescendos that sweeps the audience along in their wake.
They had the whole room on their feet and received a huge ovation at the end of their sets. I absolutely love this band with a passion and cannot understand why they are not up there at the very highest levels of the music industry.
Tell your friends about it people, we need to Keep Music Live.”
Otis Mack, Tubby Blues Club Cheltenham
“Just a little note to say a massive thank you for playing at our corporate event last night. You went down an absolute storm and managed to get everyone up dancing. You really added something special to the evening and I will definitely be recommending you to fellow party organisers. Thanks again for making the party – I’m still humming the tunes now!”

“Rob and I just wanted to say a huge thank you for last night; you were absolutely fantastic and we had such a wonderful time. We chose you because we thought that you would be able to involve so many of the various guests and that certainly proved to be the case last night. The number of people dancing during your sets is testament to the wonderful energy of your music and the engaging and involving nature of the band. We are so pleased that you agreed to play, you made it one great party! We will be hunting down a copy of your album! Many thanks!”

“We had an absolutely amazing day and part of that was because of the great music. It was brilliant to have the boys play. Everyone loved the band and the amount of people on the dancefloor at the end was testament to that. The energy and presence the band brings to their set is awesome and ensures that no matter how reserved you are, you just have to move your feet and dance, which is what good live music is all about. The band’s originality and respect for the blues, mambo and swing elements of their sound really comes through and those who hadn’t heard their set before were soon singing and moving to the chorus lines, like they were in the heart of New Orleans.”
