From the outset, The Sunshine Kings’ philosophy was that good music should be combined with good entertainment: the musicians in the band should enjoy working together to make the many old tunes they play sound fresh and new.

The band’s repertoire is drawn largely from the small group jazz of the ’20s and ’30s with a few other interesting numbers from other eras thrown in to spice things up.

The Sunshine Kings have been building a reputation as a band that is not only a lot of fun to listen to but also great to dance to, bringing joy to clubs and festivals as far afield as Cornwall and Cumbria although most often seen in and around London.

The Sunshine Kings can perform in various formats (anything from 2 to 7 musicians) and as a strolling acoustic band.
