Their songs range from classic music of the 1950s and vintage Rat Pack tunes to a soul, funk-pop repertoire including hits from the likes of Nirvana, Meghan Trainor, Oasis, Katy Perry, Stevie Wonder, Radiohead, Lady Gaga and many more!

Many arrangements are given a swing twist in a sophisticated Postmodern Jukebox style. But if it’s straight soul-funk party you want, they’ve got it too!

Soul Motion have a large selection of laid-back tunes when something more low-key is required, as well as their hip upbeat swing tunes that will make you want to put on your spats and tassels and learn to Charleston like it’s 1929.

These outstanding musicians can tailor their performances to the exact needs of any client, performing in a specific style, or creating a varied programme of music throughout an evening. If you want all the sophistication of swing music at your event, but want everybody to get down and boogie afterwards, the band can also perform a soul/funk set later in the evening (see repertoire).

Their charismatic singers deliver superb performances from mellow jazz through to the most energetic and soulful funk. You can choose to have either male or female singers performing for you, or even better, have both! They also feature the funkiest horn section imaginable that will add a massive wow-factor to any event.

Soul-Motion features a flexible lineup, normally performing as a 5-piece, but with additional members available for up to a full 8-piece band. They come with a male singer as standard but you can request one of their female singers as lead vocalist instead.

DJ music or background music can be played in between their sets, with the option to link your own iPod to their system and put your own playlist on.

Their planning was meticulous – agreeing arrival and set-up arrangements to accommodate our very specific requirements and suggesting song-by-song playlists for each set -to take our guests from post-dinner Swing, to Soul and Pop for the New Year celebrations. The start time went a little awry on the night, which must have been frustrating for the band, but they weren’t fazed in any way and adapted seamlessly with a re-jig of the set structures – our guests of course noticed nothing untoward – and they quickly had the dance floor heaving. The lead singer was amazing, with a fantastic range that particularly did the classic swing numbers proud – and also looking fabulous in a shimmering evening gown (the guys were dressed perfectly for the occasion too!).
