Brighton’s newest venue is a delightful listed building
in the city centre. Opened in 2003 by the brother-and-sister
team of Sue and Geoff Popper, the Joogleberry offers a diverse
agenda of music and dance. Jazz funk outfit Kemal Kusabbi
Kwintet (February 4), country combo the Blue Hearts (February
10) and the Brel-influenced cabaret of the Desperate Ones
(February 19) illustrate the point. Med-influenced lunches
in a top-floor café lend the venue an all-day buzz.
