The Joogleberry Playhouse, surely one of the city’s most characterful venues, celebrates its second birthday on Mon 6th. Launched back June 2003, they’ve established a massively loyal following with their seven-nights-a-week programme of music, comedy and cabaret – not to mention the hugely atmospheric “city at night” downstairs interior. The ground level café bar, meanwhile, now serves food (both quick snacks and restaurant-style full meals) all day and into the night. High profile fans include Paul McCartney, Amy Whitehouse and Richard O’Brien, who even participated in the Time Warp during a recent performance of The Little Shop of Rocky Horror.
