virtuoso violin!

I had the good fortune the other night to find myself in the nameless bar, yes it really is nameless, and where i bumped into my favourite infamous romanian violin virtuoso Baz Stanescu, formerly of Ultraswing, and Hai La Drum, and regular at Joogleberry Playhouse in the early days. On Thursday he was playing with a great quartet guitarist Paul Richards had put together and treating everyone to lots of jazz and gypsy standards given the special Stanescu twist. Baz can be forgiven just about anything on virtue of his extraordinary talent matched with plenty of romanian charm.  And while i'd only planned to stay a short while i was rooted 'til the encore: the violin sings at his command - more please BAZ!
