The Adventurists

In the spring of 2008, a chance encounter caused Sam Walker (John Watts, Turning Green) and Daniel Clark’s (The Hat, Lou Rhodes) paths to cross. Within days they had collaborated on a version of british folk tune ‘Matty Groves’ laden with horns and swamp guitars, and within a matter of months they were on the road together touring the British isles.

Less of a band, more of a collaboration of two solo performers, The Adventurists utilise Celtic Harp, Double Bass, Steel pan, homemade drum kits and electric & acoustic guitars to bring their songs and stories to life. With a shared desire to take each night as it comes, and each with a wealth of material, The Adventurists are touring Uk and Europe throughout June 2009.

Expect an evening of musical magic, sonorous spoken word, performance swapping and off the cuff tomfoolery with maverick modern storytelling and multi-instrumental songsmithery.

With a trunkful of instruments, two unruly voices and you the audience, a different show every night guaranteed!

“there’s a brilliant rapport between them, and their familiarity and proficiency with a wide range of musical instruments, and their willingness to experiment with any others which might come to hand mean that the show ducks and dives at every turn and you never quite know what’s coming next – and I doubt whether they do either!” ABI RHODES

For Daniel Clark "a consummate performer" Armed with a very small cello bow, a guitar, a harp, a loop pedal, a strange Heath Robinsonesque vocal trumpet, a voice that sounds like a cross between a young Richie Havens and Vincent Price and a head full of twisted tales and songs, cutting edge Storyteller and musician Daniel Clark (of acclaimed quartet 'The Hat') explores, with you the audience, a series of really quite remarkable worlds. THE SCOTSMAN
"Storyteller and musician Daniel Clark shows how perfectly both these roles can combine “ FRESH AIR

For Sam Walker “quirkily but expertly exploring areas previously left blank on the musical map.” ZIG ZAG MAGAZINE
A true multi instrumentalist, Sam’s work is about now, then, when and all the other imaginary dimensions in between. His songs are often funny, sometimes sad and definitely subversive. As a solo artist, Sam has released 2 albums ‘Rough in the bedroom’ and ‘Portholes’ and has toured the UK, Belgium and Germany extensively.
“What an original musician he is! You can hear bits of Pink Floyd, bits of Radiohead, bits of Grandmaster Flash, bits of loads of stuff. Most of all you can hear lots of Sam Walker”. VIVA LEWIS MAGAZINE
