Sunshine Kings

Having toured the UK and abroad playing at clubs and festivals with many great bands, Graham Hughes decided to use his experience to put together the Sunshine Kings. From the outset the philosophy was that good music should be combined with good entertainment: the musicians in the band should enjoy working together to make the many old tunes they play sound fresh and new. The band’s repertoire is drawn largely from the small group jazz of the 20’s and 30’s with a few other interesting numbers from other eras thrown in to spice things up.

The Sunshine Kings have been building a reputation as a band that is not only a lot of fun to listen to but also great to dance to, bringing joy to clubs and festivals as far afield as Cornwall and Cumbria although most often seen in and around London.

The Sunshine Kings can perform in various formats (anything from 2 to 7 musicians) and as a strolling acoustic band.
