Sun of Cash are an authentic tribute to the legendary Johnny Cash. The name 'Sun Of Cash' reflects the band's focus on Cash's early recordings at 'Sun Records', and their line up of double bass, guitar, and electric guitar captures perfectly the unique sound that made Johnny Cash so popular in the 50's.
While they focus on the early Cash sound, Sun Of Cash include favourites from right across Cash's long career. They also do a few 'guest tracks' from such diverse artist as Hank Williams and The Sex Pistols; songs that 'the quiet rebel' might well have recorded if he had lived just a little longer.
Sun Of Cash appeal to a wide age range, and to far more than just country music fans. They attribute their success in part to the popularity of the 2006 film 'Walk The Line', but ultimately to the enduring appeal of Cash's simple, honest, yet deeply-touching songs.
Formed to play at a friends wedding the response was so positive that the band decided to keep going and haven't looked back since. They've been building an enthusiastic fan base around East Anglia gradually progressing to a several well received festival appearances in 2009.
Time, and time again life-long Cash fans are bowled over by how authentic Sun Of Cash both sound and look. They set out to capture not only the sound of Cash, but also the spirit of his music, and their shows leave audiences yelling for more.
