Kemal Kusabbi
<< back

Influenced by the late 70’s and early 80’s London jazz funk and soul scene, Kemal Kusabbi was inspired by the music of Grover Washington Junior and the likes of the Crusaders. Kemal has toured all over the world playing Alto and soprano saxophone with a variety of top acts including the highly regarded South African band Sankomota and his own band Double Vision which was signed to the prestigious Acid Jazz label.
Kemal now fronts a 5-piece funk ensemble called the Kemal Kusabbi Collective with the finest of Brighton’s jazz musicians featuring Kemal himself on soprano and alto saxophone and vocals. The band combines original compositions with jazz, funk, Latin and soul grooves and has a wonderfully rich sound and a unique feel.
