Gadjo Club are a six piece band based in Dalston, London. They have been together since 2007, and launched their first studio E.P, ‘Pretty Face’, in February 2009. In May 2009 they released the track ‘Unzer’ on Waltzes, Glitches & Brass: The New Sounds of Vaudeville, on US based EMP apprearing alongside Transglobal Underground and the Amsterdam Klezmer Band.
Their influences span a diverse range of Central and Eastern European gypsy music traditions, Jewish klezmer, as well as rock n’ roll, break beats and cabaret.
Expect songs about the darker side of love, mixed with traditional tunes given a unique modern slant, where the sublime and the ridiculous collide in a heady, high energy explosion.
Firm favorites at nights such as Stranger than Paradise, Gypsy Hotel, Radio Gagarin and Balkan Beats London, they have also played at The Big Chill, The Secret Garden Party, Bhuddafields, The Sidmouth Folk Festival, Bestival and throughout the country.
