Eliza Skelton

British singer-songwriter Eliza Skelton is currently recording her first solo album The Serenade of Rough Music due for release in spring 2011. Actively a part of the UK folk scene she has worked alongside and played with The Bevis Frond, Anton Barbeau, Nick Pynn and Oddfellows Casino as well as receiving acclaim for live shows from her band The Desperate Ones. Her solo music has been compared with Linda Perhacs, Vashti Bunyan and PJ Harvey and includes psychedelic folk influences such as Pentangle and The Trees. It has been rumoured that she is descended from Wynkyn de Worde who wrote the oldest detailed collection of Robin Hood folk ballads printed in 1495.
